How to create a Vision?

Updated: Apr 11

The barrier to self improvement is not so much that we hate learning, rather we hate being taught.  To learn entails that the knowledge was achieved on ones own accord.  It feels great.  But to be taught often leaves a feeling of inferiority.  Thus it take a bit of determination and a lot of humility in order for one to fully develop.      -Jami Killosophy

The topic for today.. -VISION-

What do you think of when you think of  VISION.......?

The first thing that I think about is sight.  Looking out and seeing SO many things is just crazy! There are so many components of your sight.  How short or far you can see, how clearly you can see.  Specific details in everything such as colors, density, shapes, textures and lighting.  Our sight is built up of many components like our pupil, cornea and lens.  All have to be functioning for us to see.

Creating a mental vision is the exact same.  How well can you see?  What do you take for granted?  Can you see up close?  Can you see far away?  Are there details in your vision?  Do you take the time to appreciate where you are, where you have been and where you are going?

The reality is that you have unlimited potential in life to be happy, financially free, in great health or whatever you define as success/happiness.

Unfortunately the majority of the people in this world want to go about life day to day with no vision, no clarity and no purpose.  This is life suicide!  We all want to grow!  We all want to be better!  We all want to have MORE!  But a life with no VISION makes it impossible to have any of those things.

Lets break it down into a couple steps..

First, we have to know where we are currently.  We need to be realistic with ourselves and define exactly where we are if we want to know exactly what the path is to our vision.  Lets use the diagram below..

X----------------------------------------------------------X

The first X signifies where you are, and the second X defines your vision.  You MUST have both of them.  With out knowing where you are (the first X) it is impossible to know what necessary steps to take toward your VISION.

Lets use the example if you want to get in shape.  Lets say your 100lbs over weight, you consume 3400 calories everyday, you never exercise and you mostly eat fast food.  Now if you say you want to loose weight.  What is your first step?

Obviously there are a few things that need to be addressed.  Cardio, calorie intake, macros, weight lifting, etc..

But most people just go to the gym and lift weights as there "strategy" to get fit.  We hear, i'm big boned or I'm just someone who can't lose weight or Imagine how bad i'd look if I didn't go to the gym.  NOOOO!

You are 100lbs OVERWEIGHT, you eat 3400 calories a day!  You never work out or do any type of cardio and that is why you are out of shape.  THIS is where you are realistically.

After you determine where you are realistically you then need to set a BIG goal as well as a couple micro goals.  The big goal is the END result.  For example..  I want to weight 175lbs and be 14% body fat.  Then one of your micro goals can be I want to lose 5 lbs in the next 2 weeks and then another can be 15 lbs and 2% body fat in 2 months.

This one simple concept of determining where you are and then knowing where you want to go is essential for your personal growth.  There are SO SO many other factors in making this VISION come into fruition but this step is key.

You need to be realistic in EVERY facet of your life.  Financially, emotionally, spiritually, career, happiness, etc..  I know its tough but take the time and write down your reality so you know exactly where you are, so you can know exactly how to get to your vision.

Take the challenge to write down your current situation and then create your BIG goal and 2-5 micro goals.
