Everyday you hear someone saying that we need a morning routine to be happy, successful or productive. Well I’m here to reaffirm that believe and I’ll be the thousandth person to tell you how essential it is for your life.
Having a morning routine helps us set the tone for the day, better allowing us to control our schedules rather than our schedule controlling us. As we start each day right, we can better focus on what’s important, where to prioritize our time, and, ultimately, increase our productivity. But its not just productivity, there’s countless benefits to your mental, emotional and physical health.
Here are my 8 ways to start your day right.
1. Start the night before.
When setting a new goal to have a great morning routine there is one thing that makes it very difficult to hit this goal. Its staying up way to late, watching Netflix and eating everything in your pantry the night before.
If you want to be able to get great deep sleep you must start your morning the night before. You must be careful what you eat, what you watch and what time you get to bed. Early to bed, early to rise makes a man healthy wealthy and wise.
2. Wake up to your alarm.
First off, NEVER hit snooze. Your alarm is the sound of you getting up and kicking ass and conquering the world. The second you snooze your alarm is the second your telling yourself that your goals and well being aren’t as important as sleep. Try to get up 30min-1hr before the time you usually get up, so you have enough time to start you day off right.
3. Positive Affirmations/self talk
Affirmations are positive statements that can help you to challenge and overcome self-sabotaging and negative thoughts. When you repeat them often, and believe in them, you can start to make positive changes. Negative self talk is the number one thing that keeps people depressed and keeps people from achieving their goals. Happy, positive and successful people stay away from negative self talk.
Meditation is essential to feel well and live a Happy Life. ... Meditation can help us to eliminate negative thoughts, worries, anxiety, all factors that can prevent us feeling happy. This is something that has completely changed my life. Try to start with 5 min every morning and work your way up to 15 min per day.
5. Ten min of motivation
Motivation is the foundation for momentum and energy. Momentum is the key in getting through problems and difficult obstacles. The energies that come from motivation are unmatched so either listen to a motivational speaker, or read motivational quotes every morning. Whatever it takes to get you excited to move forward.
6. Focus on your goals
Goals give you a starting point and a destination to reach. ... The process of writing your goals down helps you clarify what you desire to do, understand the importance of pursuing them and commit yourself to making them happen. This process helps with your journey and ultimately achieving your final result.
7. Drink a glass of water
Drinking water first thing in the morning helps release toxins in the body, eliminating these toxins from the blood means keeps your skin glowing, healthy, and radiant. Not only does it help cleaning your insides but it bring a lot of clarity to your mind.
Whether your going to the park with your kids or going to work, your body is an essential part of every activity you do. Exercising allows your body to be in the best possible shape to help your daily experiences be better.
Everyday can be a good day. Everyday can help you be happier and more successful. It can be.. but only if you decide to start your day off right with a morning routine.
