We all want the good life. The big house, the nice cars, vacations, and the private jet. No work and all play right?
Usually when we get to see these people, they are pictures usually on TV or social media and they are all smiles. But something most people do not realize is that success was all created behind the scenes. The people that actually get to that point, sacrificed more than anyone. Results happen behind the scenes. What you are seeing is the end result. You never get to see the of thousands of sleepless nights, the thousands of phone calls and the thousands of failures.
Think about listening to the radio on the way to work. You get to hear beautiful music. Each song was created by talented artists. But think about how many hours they spent making that song. Think about how many songs they created before that song that no one liked? Think about how many empty shows they played before one actually made a hit. And yet they had to choose to persevere to get where they are now.
Because who wants to see the struggle? That’s not “cool”. Well the struggle is real. 88% of all millionaires are self-made. They started from zero. That’s pretty much 9 out of 10 people. So the next time you go to criticize or hate someone for being wealthy, take a look in the mirror. At one point they were in the same position as you.
The difference is that they made a decision to stop making excuses and started getting results.
There has never been a better time to stop giving excuses and start getting results than now. If you are like the majority of the world, you are in quarantine right now. Before we could come up with all sorts of excuses on why we couldn’t get in shape, or start a business, or finally get that budget going.
Well now there’s nothing but time. This is when we are truly exposed. Did you really not get results because you had so much going on? Or did you not get results because you lacked the self discipline? I’m keeping in close contact with a lot of people through the quarantine and it seems like everyone is just watching Netflix and taking naps.
Its seems like everyone is at the starting line of a race, waiting for someone to blow the horn so they can start again. Well I’m going to tell you, I’m miles ahead right now running alone wondering where everyone went? It almost feels like I’m cheating right now. I’m getting so far ahead. And yet everyone is still doing nothing.
I have coached a countless amount of people. One of the first things that I love talking about is what they want in life. Or what their ideal life looks like. Every time, people go off telling me all their hopes and dreams of the life they want. They get really excited about it, and then they have a moment. Then they start listing all the excuses on why they can’t or won’t have the life they want. Isn’t this sad? They tell me what they want, and then they tell me the obstacles and then give up. They are telling me that they aren’t going to have the life they want. This makes me sad!
Listen, you have a choice. You can either sacrifice sleep, a movie, an outing with your friends and change your life. Or you can sleep in, get out of shape and stay current with the latest TV series your watching and keep losing.
The point is this. The choice is yours. If you want to it, you can have it. But it comes at a price. A price to get rid of all your excuses and start working on building the life you want to live. The life that we all want. A life of abundance.
